A former co-owner of Auto House in Salisbury, NC, Sam Ketner leveraged over a decade of experience in the auto industry to lead the multi-location car dealership. Prior to launching Auto House, Samuel (Sam) Ketner attended the Ketner School of Business at Catawba College.

Catawba College, a small liberal arts college in Salisbury, North Carolina, is affiliated with the United Church of Christ. The institution offers degrees in 70 fields of academic study at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Recently the Ketner School of Business was accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs. The honor is bestowed on schools only after an extensive review of an institution’s leadership, strategic planning, quality of academic programs, faculty credentials, and educational support. The accreditation lasts for a 10-year period, after which a re-evaluation is necessary to maintain the distinction.

The Ketner School of Business is named for one its benefactors, Ralph Ketner. A Salisbury resident and cofounder of the national grocery store chain Food Lion, he revolutionized the grocery store business by introducing innovative business practices and eliminating costly and wasteful policies. The Ketner family supported a wide variety of charitable organizations and particularly valued higher education. To that end, they provided financial support to Catawba College and other institutions.
